The Reds were on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline at the Brondby Stadion, with a late individualistic goal from Ferhan Hasani in stoppage time proving the difference in Denmark.
Rodgers was nevertheless satisfied with the test provided for his team, who began preparations for 2014-15 just last Monday, and even more so with the atmosphere afforded by the locals.
"Wherever Liverpool go in the world, we always attract the maximum supporters," the Northern Irishman told reporters after the final whistle.
"I've got to say congratulations to Brondby - we have been received here very well, the people have been great, with great support and a great atmosphere. I wish them luck for the coming season.
"It was a great game for us, coming over here. Brondby are right at the end of their pre-season, played very well and were very sharp. It was a great run-out for us, nine days into our pre-season.
"Senior players came through it well and it was a good chance for me to look at the younger players at this early stage. It was a great workout for us. I thought their goalkeeper was very good - he made some terrific saves.
"Their team was very well coached, very well organised and passed the ball well with good movement and interchange of position. They are a very good side. It looks like they've had a good pre-season."
