The Reds arrived in the United States a week ago today and after taking on AS Roma at Fenway Park on Wednesday, kick off their actual involvement in the eight-team tournament in Chicago tonight with a game against Greek champions Olympiacos.
With further group matches against fellow Champions League participants Manchester City and AC Milan still to come in New York and Charlotte, the youngster, who spent last season on loan at Almeria, insists that the quality of the opposition the Reds will face can only benefit the players.
"Every game Liverpool play in pre-season is always important because of the support that come out to see us play," Suso told LFCtour.com.
"You see how important this club is to the fans and it will help that all of the games we're playing here are against Champions League teams. These games will be good for us because they are really competitive. Each of our opponents has really good and experienced players."
Despite scoring arguably the best goal of Liverpool's pre-season so far against Preston before flying out to Boston, Suso insists that the squad's focus up until today has been on improving fitness levels throughout the group - particularly for the players who were given extra time off after the World Cup.
"It's been great so far," he said. "We're in nice cities, we're doing double training sessions every day and we're getting fitter. Playing really competitive games will help us and it's really good to have the World Cup players back. We have to be careful with them, though, because they are maybe a little bit more tired than us. We need to take care of them."
